Quantum Researcher – Early-Stage Deep Tech Startup

We're a early-stage startup developing novel quantum algorithms that intersect with the blockchain space. We're looking for a quantum researcher or sceintist to join our technical team on a contract basis.

What you'll do:

Design and implement quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms

Benchmark performance on simulators and near-term hardware (IBM, IonQ, or similar)

Collaborate with our engineering team to integrate research into our product roadmap

Stay current with literature and identify techniques we can apply or adapt

Contribute to technical documentation, patents, and publications when appropriate

What we're looking for

PhD in physics, computer science, mathematics, or related field with a focus on quantum computing

Strong foundation in quantum information theory, gate-based computing, or variational algorithms (VQE, QAOA, etc.)

Proficiency in Python and quantum SDKs (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar)

Experience with numerical methods and classical optimization

Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates

Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in an early-stage environment

Nice to have

Publications in quantum computing or adjacent fields

Experience with quantum error correction or noise mitigation

Familiarity with cloud quantum platforms and their APIs
