Post-Quantum Encryption Specialist

In this role, you will collaborate across engineering, architecture, and security teams to enhance our cryptographic framework and ensure long-term security resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and modernization of cryptographic systems along with PKI infrastructure.

• Develop and implement strategies for adopting Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

• Evaluate existing cryptographic practices, identify vulnerabilities, and propose effective remediation strategies.

• Work closely with architecture, platform, security, and application teams to promote best practices.

• Create architecture patterns and technical documentation for cryptographic services.

• Advise on TLS, certificates, digital signatures, and secure key management.

• Act as a subject-matter expert on crypto-related security initiatives.

• Effectively communicate complex cryptographic concepts to business and technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience with cryptography, PKI, TLS, and certificate services.

• Strong knowledge of NIST PQC algorithms, guidelines, and migration strategies.

• Experience in modernizing cryptographic frameworks or leading large-scale security transformations.

• Skilled in designing and managing digital signatures, X.509 certificates, and key management systems.

• Able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-level crypto remediation or architecture.

• Familiarity with HSMs, KMS solutions, and secure key lifecycle management.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) focusing on cloud PKI and cryptographic services.

• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CCSP, or vendor-specific PKI/HSM certifications).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
