Principal Quantum Software Development Engineer 💰 Salary: $139,900 - 274,800 per year

📝 Rquirements:

- Doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of software industry experience, including the development of commercial software, compilers, scientific computing applications, or multi-component systems.

- OR Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of software industry experience in similar areas.

- OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 6+ years of relevant software industry experience.

- OR equivalent practical experience.

- Over 6 years of programming proficiency in applicable programming languages.

- At least 6 years of experience working in a collaborative environment.

- Capability to meet Microsoft and governmental security screening criteria.

- Proficiency in an AI first work environment utilizing modern AI tools.

- Familiarity with designing AI agents or copilots for various automation tasks.

👩‍💻👨‍💻 Your responsibilities are:

- Integrate the topological qubit platform with our quantum software architecture and evolve interfaces across device control/readout, error-syndrome pipelines, QIR/QDK toolchains, and Azure services.

- Drive the software architecture and technical roadmap for scaling up systems, focusing on design for control, decoding, and orchestration for larger topological QPUs and increased logical-qubit counts.

- Design, develop, integrate, and validate significant system components, delivering production-grade services, runtimes, and APIs for device orchestration, calibration, automation, data handling, observability, and reliability.

- Utilize AI to enhance speed and improve product quality through the application of Copilot/LLM workflows for design reviews, code generation, and experiment planning; establish guidelines for responsible AI usage.

- Lead and mentor team members, providing technical guidance and ensuring high standards in code health, testing, and documentation.

- Promote engineering excellence through secure-by-design practices, robust testing strategies, and quality metrics across all systems.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including experimentalists, electronics engineers, quantum architects, and compiler/runtime teams to convert requirements into delivered capabilities.
