About This Role

Seeking a Quantum Algorithms Researcher You will lead research efforts that translate quantum information theory into viable computational methods, collaborating closely with hardware and software engineering teams to guide the co-design of future architectures and shape the roadmap for practical quantum utility

Key Responsibilities

• Original Research: Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum algorithms, quantum algorithm complexity, and quantum information theory.

• Algorithm Design: Design, analyse, and prototype new quantum algorithms with a focus on demonstrating tangible computational advantage.

• Hardware-Software Co-Design: Explore and classify algorithmic primitives aligned with specific hardware capabilities, collaborating with architectural and applications teams to optimize performance under realistic physical constraints.

• Resource Estimation & Benchmarking: Evaluate the landscape of quantum algorithm benchmarks, perform rigorous resource estimations, and influence the development path for practical quantum utility.

Required Qualifications

• Research Excellence: A strong research record in quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum information theory, evidenced by top-tier publications or equivalent contributions.

• Core Concepts: Deep familiarity with core quantum algorithmic techniques (e.g., amplitude amplification, phase estimation, Hamiltonian simulation, and quantum arithmetic primitives).

• Complexity Theory: A profound understanding of quantum computational models, algorithmic complexity, and the theoretical boundaries of quantum speedups.

• Communication: Strong collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between abstract theory and engineering realities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Postdoctoral or industrial research experience in quantum computing, specifically focused on algorithm design or quantum architecture.

• Education: PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline with a strict specialization in quantum computing.

• Toolkits & Software: Experience using software frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum algorithms research and quantum resource estimation (e.g., Qualtran, Stim, or equivalent tools).

• Coding Skills: Strong software engineering skills (e.g., Python) to effectively prototype, simulate, and benchmark proposed algorithms.
